Swinging Jazz at Sassafras Creek

George Washingmachine

Feeling all strung out? Life in a spin? Well then, let the dreamy music of

George Washingmachine wash away the dust of everyday life. Accompanied by Peter Locke, regarded as one of Australia’s finest jazz pianists, this will be an evening of fun, food and music. These guys will delight with their superb swinging renditions of such classic standards as Night and Day, Caravan, Sweet Georgia Brown and It Don’t Mean a Thing if it Ain’t Got That Swing.

When it comes to knuckle dusting feats on a violin, George doesn’t play second fiddle to anyone – and George’s seductively smooth vocals have made him one of Sydney’s most sought after entertainers. Singing and fiddling aside George is a multi-instrumentalist – proficient on double bass, guitar or anything with strings! An evening with George and Peter provides a superb evening of swing jazz underpinned by a delightful sense of humour.

Locals will remember George as one of the headline acts at the Hawkesbury Fiddle Festivals or will have seen him working the jazz traps of Sydney for many years. He has performed in countless jazz festivals in Australia and overseas and is a long time member of the “Bonza Vista Social Club” up there with such legendary lights as James Morrison, Bob Barnard, Ian Date, Dan Barnett and Monica Trapaga. George has also supported international performing stars such as Sarah Vaughan.
